Announcing Meitei ‘Sen’nyū’

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of Sen’nyū, the new album by Meitei. Marking a return to his spiritual and sonic roots, Sen’nyū continues Meitei’s pursuit of a lost Japan, this time submerged in the steamy depths of Beppu’s hot springs and the memory-laden air of Yufuin. Drawing from on-site field recordings, diary fragments, and nocturnal impressions, Sen’nyū captures a delicate flow between stillness and motion, the physical and the ephemeral.

The first single “Yon-no-yu” is out now. A contemplative entry point into the inner world of Sen’nyū, it is inspired by one of Beppu’s most historic bathhouses.

The full album will be released on August 8, 2025, together with a 108-page hardcover companion book documenting Meitei’s process and journey through the making of the album. Both will be available in limited formats via KITCHEN. LABEL and selected stores worldwide.
