Zinovia Arvanitidi

France

Zinovia Arvanitidi, born in Athens and now based in France, has always been a wanderer of sound. Her training at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory of Athens shaped her in classical harmony, counterpoint, fugue, orchestration, and music technology. Her career began not as a soloist, but as a collaborator. As a session musician, vocalist, and sound engineer, Zinovia absorbed the essence of Greece’s most influential artists.

Since 2012, she has released three albums to call her own: VANISHING MIRROR (KITCHEN. LABEL), her collaboration with Hior Chronik under the moniker PILL-OH, The Gift of Affliction (2013, Tympanik Audio), and Ivory (2018, KITCHEN. LABEL). Her work blends classical, ambient-electronic, jazz, and film music into a sound that is distinctly hers — lush, cinematic, and melancholic.

As a composer for film and TV, Zinovia has written scores for everything from theatrical plays to animated films. It was her work for Russian TV series that introduced her to the broader world of moving images.

Represented by Oticons, a renowned film composer’s agency, she now shares space with esteemed figures like Shigeru Umebayashi and Jan A.P. Kaczmarek.
